MEEt ANNIE
Hi, I’m Annie!
As a Licensed Professional Counselor with 10 years of experience, I’ve dedicated my career to helping individuals overcome life’s challenges, discover their own strengths, and build skill sets to manage the inevitable stressors of life. I believe therapy is more than just “meeting and talking”; it’s about creating a genuine connection in which one feels seen, heard, and encouraged to become the best version of himself or herself.
I have worked in various therapy environments including non-profit, school-counseling, faith-based, and private-practice settings. Having earned my Bachelors in Art and working as an art teacher before venturing into the psychology field, I’ve loved sharing my passion for art and creativity with my clients through Expressive Arts.
When I’m not working with clients, you can find me baking, making art, or spending time with my cat, Mona, and my loved ones. These moments remind me of why I do what I do — to help people find balance, peace, and joy even amidst life’s storms.
MY VISION
At Anchor Psychotherapy, my work is grounded in three core principles:
-
Truly Customized Care
You are the only you, and your therapy should reflect that too. Together, we’ll create a plan that reflects your desires, values, morals, and personal journey. I want you to feel comfortable with the goals and the process.
-
Deep Understanding
Growth starts with understanding. I’ll help you identify patterns and behaviors that might be holding you back, so you can move forward with clarity and purpose. I’ll also guide you in discovering and understanding your purpose in life, so you can experience that wholesome sense of fulfillment.
-
Personal Empowerment
You have the strength to overcome life’s challenges — even if it doesn’t feel like it right now. My goal is to help you uncover that strength and build a life that you’re excited to live.

Why “Anchor”?
You may be wondering why I chose the name “Anchor Psychotherapy”... and, no, I was not in the Navy…
When I think of being “anchored,” I think of feeling grounded in the moment, being present to myself and my environment, facing and accepting reality, addressing wounds, building boundaries, and regulating internal stress.
I consider an “anchor” to be a pillar of support and security that prevents one from getting lost and straying into unsafe waters.
I see an “anchor” as not only a spiritual symbol of hope but also a literal symbol of sailing and relaxation. Having lived at the beach, this symbol is personal and special to me.
An “anchor” represents what I hope to establish in my own life and what I try to provide for my clients every day; and I hope that each of you reading this can experience it in your life as well.
